On June 25th, the official MINI Motorsports team, three privateer MINI teams and as many as 200 other competitors will race a grueling 24 hours at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. This epic endurance race on the world’s most epic public road will test men and machine alike. It’s been dubbed “The Green Hell Adventure.” Notoriously unpredictable weather plus a swarm of cars will make this race truly a spectacle to behold. MINI is still tight-lipped about just what cars they’re racing at this event, but if they’re the cars we think they are, stay tuned, ’cause you’re going to want to see this.

Spelling error in first sentence:Â “teem” vs “team”

Thanks! Â It’s been fixed!

Can’t wait to hear more on this!

I’d go with a Cooper SD. It might not be as fast, but it was stay on the track longer.

cool

R58’s according to Scott27 if I remember right

I will laugh my ___ off it it turns out to be the crossover. After getting a tiny tweak over a R56 to the R58 if a R60 runs it I laugh over the top of the MINI performance cars is a crossover lol

Why not both the R58 and R60? The R60 chassis is running in the WRC. It would be a great test of the tarmac setup. Plus, it’s wheel time for the driver in the r60 on tarmac. it will be interesting if MINI.ca will field the WRC R60 for Targa Newfoundland.

I’ll be there for the race and a week before for the testing sessions. Â As soon as I see “it” I’ll pass pix along. :)

Coopsters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm… that looks like a JCW Coupe!!!

Photos of the car they are likely to be racing are already on the internet, look around ;)Â

If you adjust the shadows in Photoshop, you can see that it’s clearly a JCW R58 (silver) with red roof and mirrors. Â Black sport stripes on the bonnet and white sport stripes on the roof.

Yeah its definitely a R58 JCW as described. Should be interesting to see what they have done to it. My bet is that its the preview car from the next MINI racing series. More than likely more of the Coupe I was hoping for. Either way should be fun to watch.

Just an FYI any information on what this car is was to be released on June
21st. No idea why or how someone broke the embargo and posted the pictures
online early. Sort of a shame when people do this as MINI has a big surprise
planned.

Agreed on that Gabe, Its really tough keeping shots of cars secrete since there are more than a few people that spend s huge amount of time watching likely spots. I did not bother to go around the web to make the determination about this car. Scott27 released the info more or less the other day that we were going to see a R50 MINI Motorsport car. When lightening up this photo it became clear what the car is.

Either way I fully expect to really enjoy seeing R58’s dart around the Ring during the race.

I think it would have came sooner or later. Some times I think the leaks are deliberate.

SWEEEEET!!! Â The Coopsters look HOT! Â Can’t wait
